Giving Back to the Community

In support of community art activities, the Chewelah Arts Guild has worked to improve and support existing art facilities and groups. By purchasing comfortable stacking chairs, installing soundproofing and painting the facility, the Guild helped turn the City Civic Center into a venue with sound quality, seating and display areas that are used and appreciated by local performers and the entire community. Later the Arts Guild partnered with the Chewelah Valley Lions Club to buy new tables to further update the Civic Center.
In 2012 the Chewelah Arts Guild continued to demonstrate its commitment to the community and the children of Chewelah by raising more than $20,000 to build the Chewelah Arts Pavilion. This unique and functional building was the site for the Chewelah Arts Guild sponsored Children's Pavilion during Chataqua and in 2021 the site was used for the guild's  Children's Art Festival which will be an annual event.
