Children's Art Festival
The 2021Children’s Art Festival was a two-day event full of fun for kids in the city park. Although Chewelah lost Chataqua in 2021, the Chewelah Arts Guild decided to continue it’s tradition of bringing the arts to children in an activity-packed weekend on July 17th and 18th. Children made fabric water bottle carriers, tie-dyed shirts, created string paintings, learned sumi painting, practiced water color techniques, painted on easels and experienced interactive music movement all guided by Art Teachers. Children were entertained by: Stagetime Theatre’s song and dance show, Eric Stevens’ magic show, and Vytal Movement’s contemporary dance. The Chewelah Fire Department served burgers and drinks to keep up everyone’s energy. Art plus kids equaled a great weekend. The Chewelah Arts Guild looks forward to making this an annual event.
